We are a working team of family and friends based in Celuk, a Balinese village famous for its silver jewelry cottage industries. The founders, Louise, (the ‘Lu’ in Lutikalai,) and Pastika, (the ‘tika’ in Lutikalai,) decided to set up the company after a collective 15 years of working in the handicraft business and having absolutely nothing to show for it! The idea was to set up a work place for themselves and their team that would make it easier and more enjoyable for everyone, including the produces they work with, to enjoy the fruit of their labour without being exploited or exploiting others.
